Wednesday is Rib Night at Barlovento. Definitely a treat to have such tasty ribs that fall off the bone. The sauce was great as was the coleslaw. Luis our waiter was and always is great. Looking forward to next Wednesday!
Food was great. I'm from Canada and there were a lot of people with American accents eating at nearby tables and American people's voices make me quite uncomfortable, I was a bit worried someone would open fire with a machine gun or that the restaurant would suddenly explode. Thankfully nothing like that happened and I finished my meal in peace!
Chris was the best. We had mango and lime margaritas, chips and salsa, and guacamole. I wish we were hungry because we would have definitely eaten here! Food, service, and atmosphere was top notch.
Luis did an excellent job serving our group of 8. We ordered drinks and dinner and we all loved our speciality beverages. His English was excellent and all food came out as ordered. Even though we finished dinner by 9 they had completely cleaned up and put away the entire restaurant except our table even though closing was listed as 10pm. We felt rushed, but that was the only downside. Otherwise a successful dinner for a multigenerational family.
The coffee is mucho bueno and you can buy some to bring home. What an awesome experience. You can take a book from their library, we left with some great information about tours. Thank you for the cool ball caps!!
In a place overrun with tourists trap eateries, this place was a treat. The food was good at very reasonable prices. But, most of all the staff is outstanding. Very friendly, in a genuine way. We could see that the staff enjoys what they do. The second time we went in we had the same waiter, Chris. He remembered our names, what we drank and even that we asked for a special salsa on the side. Highly recommended.
The food that we ordered here was exceptionally good. I think the menu caters a little more on the tourism side, but the chicken burrito was outstanding. The drinks (margs) were also exceptional. Our server Andres was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Visited while in progresso on a carnival cruise. Chris was our waiter and he was excellent. He took care of us while we were there. Food was the best we have had. Highly recommend this place for good authentic Mexican cuisine. Excellent!
